Food For Thought

Whereas it is good to know your limits, it is equally important to say NO to those limits. The greatest breeder of limits is FEAR.  Because of fear many people have settled for less than they should. Because of fear, many people have opted to camp on the roadside instead of climbing to the top of the mountain where their cabins are found. Fear cripples. Fear limits you. The only way to say NO to your limits is by overcoming your fear.  Face your fears and your limits will melt away.
Think about that for a minute….Done? Good. Similarly it would be very awkward to find a car “sailing” on water, unless of course it is one of those modified ones that are accustomed to being on both water and land - the ones we see on movies and sci-fi channels.  Same case applies to a ship on the road. I mean, how would that even work? It wouldn’t even move an inch on the road without grazing some important parts, but place it in the sea and it preens like a peacock. Here’s the real kicker; there are so many people living the life of a car while in reality they are ships! They play it safe by not going into “sea”, yet unknowingly, they are damaging themselves by playing it safe. Yes. When you are in the wrong place, pursuing the wrong dreams, you are hurting yourself more than you are protecting yourself. There’s this famous nautical saying by Grace Hopper that, "A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are built for”. Similarly, you playing it safe and being afraid of... [Continue reading]
When I first saw this image, it gave me the creeps. I thought the dog had a peculiar skin disease only to realize that it was actually not a disease but just an illusion caused by the effects of  sunlight streaming through a patterned lace curtain, whose pattern flatteringly landed on the dog, causing this eerie looking image. Fear has the same exact effect on humans too. It is an illusion. An illusion that cripples whatever faith anyone might have had, and robs the brain off any potential it might have had.  Like someone correctly put it, FEAR is an acronym which stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. In other words, people fear things they don’t quite understand, things that half the time are not even there.  This fear is what causes most people to live in a world of "What If”; What if the project doesn’t take off? What if this marriage won’t work? What if this business idea fails? What if my kids don’t turn out as I wish them to? What if. What if. What if. This causes so many... [Continue reading]
Why do we celebrate Easter? ~ Today we are ALIVE because He died and Rose Again. ~ Today our loneliness is gone because He clothed us with His undeserved LOVE for He IS LOVE. ~ Today we are celebrating not His death, but His VICTORIOUS RESURRECTION. ~ Today we can stand strong on His shoulders because on His shoulders we stand tall and ELEVATED. ~ Today we are BLESSED because he took all our curses and replaced them with His immeasurable blessings. ~ Today we are FREE because He took our captivity and gave us His Freedom. ~ Today we are FORGIVEN and SANCTIFIED because He took all our sins and gave us His purity. ~ Today we are healed and completely restored from all our iniquities and diseases because He gave us His Wholeness and took our brokenness. All these gifts are ours, but the only thing we have to do is accept what He fought so hard to give us, what He has willingly gone out and bought for us; and that is Salvation from everything threatening our lives. Will you accept that... [Continue reading]
Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why ~ Eddie Cantor
Invest a few moments in thinking. It will pay good interest. ~Author Unknown Unfortunately not many people want to take time to think. They want other people to do the thinking for them. No wonder Thomas A. Edison said, “Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think;  and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.” There is no challenge in this world that cannot be solved; it only requires for people to think. When you think, it is like having a conversation with yourself. You ask you questions and you answer them. You think through your challenges and you formulate a plan to overcome them.  Nobody living in this world knows you better than you know you; you know when you are lying to others (and to yourself), when you are being sensitive or insensitive, when you are being productive or non-productive, when you are being reactive instead of proactive, and when you are being absolutely lazy!  I guess I now understand why Apple uses the... Albert Einstein said, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” But let’s face the fact; sometimes life sucks. When you wake up in the morning and realize only one of your hormones left the bed while all the rest are still sleeping; life sucks Worse still,  you wake up feeling all sore and tired but you still have to go to a job you hate; life sucks. Then you have to sit in traffic in a public vehicle, full of people some who seriously need a shower and breath mints; life sucks. When you have a boss who can’t seem to understand or appreciate all the hard work you put in and always seems to find fault in the slightest thing you do, even in the way you walk or sneeze; life sucks. When you have a husband or a wife who takes you for granted, who seems to think you are part of the furniture at home or the paint on the walls; life sucks. When you go to the bank to get a few shillings from your already depleted account, yet the cashier at the counter seems... [Continue reading]
I don’t know about you but I really hate it when people are all over my business, seeming to know what is best for my life, especially when they have no contribution towards it.  So today I’ll just let the wise men and women of our time speak on my behalf through these ten quotes...… "A hard thing about business is minding your own.” ~ Unknown "A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people's business.” ~ Eric Hoffer "Don't spend so much time analyzing me and my life. Worry about your own, that is obviously where the real issues lie.” ~ Brittany Marcum "When you mind your own business you will never get caught up in all the nonsense.” ~ Gee Linder "If you stop focusing on other people's life you'll have more time to fix your own life.”~ Sonya Parker "You would be very surprise with how much positive changes you could make in your life, if could make it your top priority to... You must have heard the saying, “you are what you eat”. That’s true not just for your body but also for your mind. If you constantly feed your body with junk, sooner or later you will see the results. The reverse is also true; if you feed your body with healthy food, exercise daily and maintain a healthy lifestyle all round, then the results will also be evident. The same case applies to your mind. Do you know you become what you feed your mind?  If you feed your mind with negativity constantly, you will end up becoming a negativity churning machine. If you feed your mind with positivity, you become a source of constant positive vibes. People will want to come to you just to get infected by your positivity. Here’s something else; whatever you constantly feed your mind, you develop an appetite for that thing. That is why people with some kind of addiction find it hard to break away from it. Why? Because they have developed an appetite for that addiction, and unless they feed it, they... [Continue reading]
Forget it is Monday, and believe it or not, today is a gift with your name on it. But guess what? You have the choice to unwrap your gift, or just keep it at a corner somewhere and keep complaining about how blue the Monday is, or how wet the land is or how bad things have become…… Or you can choose to unwrap it, see the beauty in it despite all the other negative things surrounding it, and determine to embrace and enjoy it to the last hour. Which option will you take?  I choose to embrace this day and the week ahead no matter what it swings my way
Is it possible to ignore a volcanic eruption? I don’t think so. If anything, do so at your own peril. Do you know that besides spewing fire from the top, in some instances a volcano can cause the earths intestines to growl ferociously, causing a major earthquake?  When there are signs of a volcano, everyone around the vicinity stays on guard because they know the force behind could be disastrous. I am not saying that you should go around erupting on people like a volcano, or  spewing your wrath on unsuspecting people. No. All I am saying is let the power within you come out so forcefully that people will remember who you are.  Leave a mark in history that shows you ever lived. A positive mark. A force-filled mark. Don’t pass through life being an unknown.
Success is and will never be easy.  Anyone who has ever succeeded in doing something (the right way) will tell you this.  I was looking at this picture of these guys scrambling for the ball and I realized they epitomize exactly what success is…. You have to work really hard to get what you want. There will be a lot of sweating (and probably swearing) along the way. Many times you will find yourself too pissed off or too disappointed to do anything else but cry. Even on a cold day or night in winter, you will break a sweat while working on your dream to be successful.  While others are sleeping 8 hours a day, you will be on your feet 72 hours a day; almost walking like a zombie (but thanks to lots of coffee or energy drinks you still manage to stay strong) because you know what you are looking for. The only breaks you are likely to get are the 20 minutes cat-naps you catch in between activities just to keep you from falling flat on your face…..more energy drinks thereafter. And after...
